|Bowers has officially declared for the draft, and that will make many defensively challenged teams very happy. Bowers made a significant leap after two solid but unspectacular seasons at Clemson. Scouts particularly love his size and strength in addition to his initial burst off the line. He led the nation in sacks after battling injuries early in his college career. He could be at the top of a number of teams’ draft boards as far as defensive ends go. If there is one knock on Bowers it’s that he is a little bit slower moving laterally than moving up the field.
